3 Vital Practices for Your Physical Cleanse

Cleanse your emotional energy for abundant resources and natural vitality.

Physical Cleanse

In my blog Four Ways to Embrace Your Self-CARE, I shared that true self-CARE is about self-Connection, self-Acceptance, self-Response-ability and self-Expression. Each of these includes a mental, an emotional and a physical component, so you need to cleanse what no longer serves you and replace it with positive energetic beliefs, emotions and behaviors for more peace, love and abundance in your life. In the last two blogs, you gave yourself a mental cleanse and an emotional cleanse. Now you’re ready for your physical cleanse by:

  • Choose Self-Control

  • Align Your Actions with Your Vision

  • Care for Your Elemental Needs

Most people would probably think of dieting, fasting and detoxing as a physical cleanse, and those could be choices you make while caring for your elemental needs. I suggest a more expansive approach to your physical cleanse. Exercising self-control, choosing actions that align with your vision and values and caring for all your elemental needs can lead to reduced stress and increased health and wealth.

Choose Self-Control

Your habits and choices control your progression through life. You can’t have healthy habits, body and home if you give all your time, energy and other resources to others without receiving any benefit directly or indirectly and instead are drained to burnout, overwhelm and illness.

Choose to use empowering, inspirational and impactful words, both verbally and in writing whether saying them to yourself or others.

Choose to control your actions by creating energizing habits and effective and efficient systems and by being present each moment.

Choose to express positive thoughts and beliefs. Choose to express unconditional love to all. Choose to express joy each moment. When you choose to face life with optimism and resilience, you will naturally experience more peace, love and abundance. 

You can control your energetic vibration by choosing love over fear. Vibrate at the level of attraction that invites the opportunities and people into your life that will naturally help you to expand into your best self. Be open to receive all the abundance you are attracting into your life.

You can control your level of abundance by stepping into the flow of generosity and gratitude. Give where you feel lack to invite more abundance in that area of your life.

To invite more positive situations in your life, accept reasonable risks. If you take no risks, you can achieve nothing. If you take extreme risks, you’re likely to lose everything you already have. If you take reasonable risks, you can continue to make progress, to learn and grow into the wonderful life you imagine. 

Aligning Your Actions with Your Vision

Physically shift from scarcity behaviors to vision-aligned actions.

Doubtful to Decisive

While it’s okay to use some caution while making a decision, it’s not wise to overanalyze your decision to the point of frozen inaction. Center yourself in your vision while making any decision. You will intuit whether the step aligns. 

If you notice any discomfort in your brain, heart or gut, then determine what mental, emotional or physical aspect of your choice is out of alignment and refine your decision. When it’s the right decision, your mind, heart and body will all agree. Your motivation for your vision will overcome any fear of the unknown. 

Separation to Support

Remember that you are interdependent with all. It may seem natural to try to figure things out on your own - what to do and how to do it - but no one truly does everything 100% by themselves. So instead of separating yourself from others, determine what kind of support you need from others and who would best fill those supporting roles. 

While you would probably like your family’s moral support, they might not be the best support in some areas. Do you have a mentor to help you achieve your occupational goals? Are you working on a project that requires a team with a variety of skills? Choose the best team members to fulfill the roles that are not your strong suit. If you’re the only member of your family pursuing certain health goals, find some friends or a support group to support you through the process. No matter what you are focused on, ask for support from others who can actually help.

Exhausted to Energized

Trying to do things in ways that don’t resonate with you ends up draining your energy faster, whether it’s the methods you use to organize your home, to plan your meals (or not), or to allocate your time, money and other resources. If you’re doing things the way someone else says you should, but that way doesn’t resonate with your natural style, then change it to what works for you.

If the overstimulation of networking in large groups drains your energy, then try reaching out to individuals or smaller groups. Even personal social gatherings can expand or contract your energy. You get to choose which relationships are important to you and how you want to maintain them, small frequent gatherings or large infrequent ones or any other combination. You choose what energizes you.

Choose a planning method that resonates with how you function well. Some people thrive on having every minute scheduled, which is fine as long as they have a system to handle unexpected events. Others like to plan by chunking time for different types of activities, which works best if they schedule in alignment with their high and low energy periods. Still others create their own hybrid methods or other fad methods. 

My own hybrid method is to list what I want to accomplish, then chunk the time alternating between mental, emotional and physical tasks, which helps to maintain my energy levels. What planning method resonates with you to help you stay energized throughout your day?

Caring for Your Elemental Needs

Now you’re ready to step into the more typical aspect of a physical cleanse. Listen to your body - notice how you feel; notice any changes; ask it what it needs and honor those needs. Your body is always communicating with you, you just need to listen. 

What self-care practices would you love to use to cleanse your physical energy? Here are some ideas for each of your five elemental needs. Choose any that resonate with you or intuit your own ideas.

  • Air - Breathe, Sleep and Meditation

    • Find a quiet place to just breathe for a few minutes. Take deep breaths and exhale longer than you inhale to help reset your body after stress.

    • Sleep for 8-9 hours for mental, emotional and physical restoration.

    • Meditation is especially good for a mental reset. Bring your attention into your centered self and focus on your breath, a mantra or music.

  • Water - Hydration - internal and external

    • Drink plenty of water and other fluids, based on your individual needs.

    • Detox in an epsom salt and baking soda (or other salts) bath.

    • Talk to yourself using positive affirmations, which affects the majority of your body that is made of water.

  • Earth - Nutrition and Nature

    • Add more veggies to your meals.

    • Try a fast that is appropriate for you per your doctor.

    • Commune with nature in your backyard.

  • Fire - Sun, Exercise and Metabolism

    • Sit in the sun or garden in the sun.

    • Take a walk in nature.

    • Do a sun salutation.

  • Aether - Intangible Needs - Safety, Belonging, Esteem, Actualization

    • For any feeling of not being safe, take a step to solve the situation.

    • Reach out to loved ones and spend quality time together.

    • List all the things you love and admire about yourself.

    • Celebrate all the steps you have achieved so far on your quest toward your vision of self-actualization.

Many of these practices are easy to incorporate into your life for a daily physical cleanse to relieve stress, to rejuvenate your mind, heart and body, and to energize your thoughts, emotions, words and actions with your vision and values. Give yourself the gift of Self-CARE.
