3 Strategies to Invite the Flow of Abundance
Step into the flow of generosity and gratitude.
Live in the Flow
Are you frequently overwhelmed with your responsibilities and all the expenses involved in just maintaining your life? Are you working too many hours just to “keep up with the Joneses?” Do you give in to all the advertising for things you don’t really need and squeeze the excess into an already full home? Would you love to achieve the level of abundance that is perfectly suited to give you peace, love and abundance? Here are 3 strategies to help you step into the flow of abundance:
Shift from Transactions to Investments
Spend Aligned with Your Vision
Consume Wisely and Purposefully
Stepping into the flow of abundance allows you to create and maintain harmony between your occupation, relationships, health and wealth.
Shift From Transactions to Investments
Do your days and weeks and years all look pretty much the same? Do you claim you want more confidence, deeper friendships and more time and money? Do you think you can get what you want without changing what you think and do?
Take some time to look at your life. What would you love your life to look, feel and be in your greatest vision? Then compare your current life with that vision. What is working well? Keep it. What isn’t working well? Release it if you can, and invest that time, energy, money and other resources into your vision of the life you would love.
Belief in Lack versus Abundance
Do you believe you have enough time, energy, money, supportive relationships and other resources? What do you believe about yourself, your ability to succeed, your feeling of belonging, and your ability to receive everything you need to fulfill your life purpose? What do you believe about other people?
Step into the flow of abundance by giving where you feel lack. Invest your time, energy, talents and treasure where you want to increase your abundance. For example, if you feel you lack time. Invest your time helping others. The change of pace is likely to make you more productive. You’ll also likely prioritize your time better, releasing time wasters or things that really aren’t important to you.
Listening to Advertisements versus Your Needs
How many times have you purchased food, clothing, shoes, electronic gadgets, etc. that you really didn’t need, just because the advertisement looked so good and convinced you that you had to have it? Do you buy brand names over generic for identical products with identical ingredients or quality, just because they have a catchy name or pretty packaging?
The key to eliminating wasteful spending is to challenge any advertised purchase by asking if you really need it and if it is in aligned with your vision. This doesn’t mean that you should not by brand named or advertised products. If the brand’s values align with yours and you want to support their business, then do so if it is reasonably within your budget. Or save up specifically for the purchase. If you decide you need something, compare prices and quality before choosing which to purchase.
Habitual versus Conscious Choices
Is it time for you to examine your habits and make some changes? Think about what changes you might want to make so that your thoughts, emotions, words and actions are more aligned with the you that you embody in your vision.
If you do need to make changes, don’t try changing everything at once. It’s much easier to make small changes and associate them with other habits. You’re less likely to trigger your fear of changes. Consciously choosing your changes makes you happy and motivated to introduce those changes, instead of thinking of them as “shoulds” that you or somebody else has imposed on you. Consciously choose to be the you in your vision, and you will more quickly manifest that vision.
Spending Aligned with Your Vision
When talking about spending, you need to think about all the resources you have to spend. You probably include your time and money, but have you also thought to include your mental, emotional and physical energy? You have abundant resources available to you and an exhausting number of choices to make in how to use them. When you take the time to clarify your vision, the choices become much easier. Does this choice align with my vision?
Tithing Where Spiritually Fed
Most people have heard of tithing to your religious church or spiritual center. I was taught to tithe where I’m spiritually fed, which isn’t exactly the same thing. I can be spiritually fed by those kinds of organization, and I can be spiritually fed in many other ways. In her book, The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity, Edwene Gaines tells the story about being spiritually fed by a compassionate waitress. Local nonprofits and other businesses can spiritually feed you by doing inspirational work. Nature can feed you spiritually. Where do you feel spiritually fed? Spend some of your resources supporting individuals, organizations and natural locations that feed you spiritually.
Supporting People
Share your time, talent and resources with family, friends and community organizations that are important to you. Give to charities and other organizations that support and uplift people. Send loving, healing, peaceful energy to all. Supporting others has the added benefit of increasing your sense of belonging.
Investing in Your Vision
You already learned that having a clear vision helps you make better decisions when you’re faced with excessive numbers of choices. This section is more about being more proactive in searching for the right investments to move you closer to manifesting your vision. Make sure your vision includes your purposeful occupation, your harmonious relationships, and your abundant health and wealth. Include all your mental, emotional and physical needs. What does your vision of peace, love and abundance look like? Intentionally invest your resources into fulfilling your vision.
Consume Wisely and Purposefully
Modern cultures typically revolve around our consumption of resources. We’ve been taught to believe that more is better and that the pursuit of money is itself a goal. I disagree with this belief. I believe that the pursuit of money is only valuable to the extent that you can live a productive, harmonious lifestyle that includes enough abundance to make you happy, but not too much stuff that becomes a burden to maintain. Your point of harmony will be unique in what it includes and how much of it you include as your optimum level. Your point of harmony will also change when your circumstances change or when you refine your vision. You get to choose, so choose wisely and purposefully.
Intellectual - Information
What kinds of information do you consume on a regular basis? How much do you consume? Would the time and energy spent on some of it be better spent on pursuing some aspect of your vision? Consciously choose to learn and grow in pursuit of your vision. Consciously choose what you’re feeding your mind. Question your answers. Are they still valid with new information? Be sure to give your mind a rest as well. Some of your best answers come when you listen to the still, small voice within.
Emotional - People
Who do you spend your time with? What kind of emotions do you feel when you are with them? Try limiting the amount of time you have to spend with people who zap your energy with negative emotions. Spend your valuable time with people who join you in a loving, mutually respectful relationship. Give your time, talent and treasure where you feel a sense of belonging with others who share your values of peace, love and abundance. When you do have to spend time with people who are energy zappers, develop courageous communication skills to help you navigate the situations.
Physical - Things
Physical possessions serve a purpose and are not the end goal themselves. Consciously choose what you need and how much you need to reach your unique point of harmony. Question whether you really use the things you have. Don’t keep things that don’t serve a purpose. That doesn’t mean you can’t keep souvenirs or art. If they serve the purpose of making you smile or making the room feel cozy or energetic, depending on the mood you want, then keep them. They are serving a purpose. The key is limiting the quantity to what makes you happy without making you work too hard to maintain it.
Your physical consumption also includes how you allocate your resources for your health, your schedule, your monetary budget, your lifestyle and work/life balance. Create healthy habits, a prioritized schedule, and an organized home and environment to support your optimal consumption to live the life you envision. Track your use of resources and adjust as needed to align with your vision and values.
