3 Keys to Optimal Natural Health
Energize your mind, heart and body to achieve your optimal natural health.
Optimal Natural Health
To achieve your optimal natural state of health, you must consider the mental, emotional and physical aspects of all your needs, tangible and intangible. The three keys impact your mind, heart and body as follows:
Key #1 - Mind - expand your understanding of the essential principles for mental energy
Key #2 - Heart - empower your heartfelt connections for emotional energy
Key #3 - Body - express your elemental needs for physical energy
Many people teach us about the mind-body connection, which is a key to learning more about oneself. I expand on this idea to include heart as another aspect, which includes more of the influences of your relationships and environment on your life.
Each thought and belief influences your emotions and physical state.
Each feeling and emotion influences your physical and mental state.
Each word and action influences your mental and emotional state.
Everything you think, feel and do impacts your mental, emotional and physical health. You can’t increase health in one area without also considering the other two areas. You create harmony in your life by satisfying all your mental, emotional and physical needs.
In addition to your internally motivated thoughts, feelings and actions, you have externally motivated thoughts, feelings and actions. You respond to your interactions with other people and with your environment. All of these influences can increase or decrease your mental, emotional and physical state of health.
Mind - Essential Principles
Three essential principles are needed to align your belief system with optimal natural health.
Your natural state is your optimal state of mental, emotional and physical health.
You start life with infinite potential to fulfill your life purpose as your best self. Your natural state is the absolute of the state. Peace of mind is your natural state. Harmonious relationships are your natural state of relating. Physical health is your natural state. Your natural state is then impacted by internal and external factors or stressors that shift you into an alternate state of mental, emotional and physical health.
Your parasympathetic system desires homeostasis and returns you to a healthy state after a stress response.
You are created with the ability to shift back to your natural state after responding to mental, emotional and physical stressors. Problems occur when you do not allow yourself to return to your natural state. Prolonged states of stress can cause you to shift your natural state to a new level, called a setpoint.
Achieving and maintaining a dynamic, healthy harmony among your mental, emotional and physical needs is the key to optimal natural health.
Your mind, heart and body naturally maintain a dynamic, healthy harmony, which rests in a calm, peaceful, relaxing state. You intentionally stress yourself mentally, emotionally and physically to grow stronger. You must continue to change dynamically or risk atrophy. Energy needs to keep moving. The key is to consistently exercise all three areas to maintain overall health.
Keep these three principles in mind as you go through the other two parts.
Heart - Empowered Connections
Nurturing all of your relationships empowers your three types of energetic connections.
Your first type of connection is your relationship with yourself.
Nurture your relationship with yourself. Be your own best friend. When you think negative thoughts about yourself, you contract your mental, emotional and physical energy. Affirm the positive truth instead. You are an amazing human being, and you deserve to live life to its fullest, to experience all life has to offer during your journey. Accept yourself exactly as you are. Give yourself unconditional love. Commit to continuing to do your best to provide for yourself to fulfill your unique life purpose.
Your second type of connection is with other people.
Nurture your relationships with your family members, friends, people at work and those in your community. Before meeting with anyone, you probably preview how the meeting will go and predict every problem that you might encounter. Instead, try sending love to those you are meeting with and set an intention for the meeting to go well. If a negative possibility sneaks in, imagine a positive solution to it. It’s just as easy to imagine a positive outcome as a negative one, and you’ll feel better. Your imagination does not distinguish between real and imagined, so why experience a negative possibility?
Your third type of connection is with all LIFE.
Nurture your relationship with all LIFE. Spend time in nature. Whether you love the beach or the woods, or even your own backyard, spend time in the sunshine and fresh air. Connecting with LIFE itself can be achieved through various forms of meditation as well. Realizing you are an integral part of Oneness, you open to the flow of LIFE in and through you to the whole world in a matrix of unconditional love. Feel how expansive your energy is when you connect with the whole world.
Maintaining positive, harmonious relationships not only empowers your connections emotionally, but also influences your mental and physical aspects of life.
Body - Elemental Needs
All your tangible and intangible needs can be summarized with the five elements as follows:
Air
Although you do not see air, it is tangible. You feel it filling your lungs with every breath. You feel it in the wind caressing your skin or blowing through your hair. Breathing and sleeping are both vital to life and need air to fulfill their rhythmic process.
Water
Water is necessary to every single cell of our body. Dehydration can quickly and seriously impair your health. Hydration can quickly repair your health. Water is also used for cleansing and detoxifying.
Earth
The earth naturally supplies all our nutritional needs and our vital connection with plants, animals, geological sites and bodies of water. It also provides the materials for building homes and other material needs.
Fire
Fire transforms fuel into energy. The more energy you burn, the more you feel alive. Fire can be absorbed as warmth from the sun, created by the expansion and contraction of muscles, or by metabolizing the nutrition we consume.
Aether
Aether encompasses all of your intangible needs, which include safety, belonging, esteem and actualization.
Unfulfilled needs can cause more than physical problems. Many mental and emotional problems occur as a result of neglecting your physical needs.
